Smoke and Water Damage

We hope you never have smoke or water damage in your home. It can be a devastation and a very stressful time, but we do feel you should know what to do with you instruments if and when it does happen.

As the humidity level increases as a result of a fire being extinguished or water leaking into your home, the wood found on your piano expands. Other substances within the piano are porous and highly susceptible as they absorb harmful particles. The Piano's action is greatly affected. The felts in the action serve as natural wicks for odor and moisture. If not cleaned promptly by a professional further damage will occur and remain.
